Esco is expanding their US sales operation and is looking to fill the following position in New England and on the West Coast (Northern or Southern):

Field Sales Manager


Position Summary:
The Field Sales Manager position is responsible for meeting and exceeding his or her assigned geographic territory goals. Establishing strong business relationships with life science customers will be crucial for this role as well as identifying and closing new sales opportunities. The Field Sales Manager will work with existing Esco distributors, manufacturer's reps, and other sales outlets to increase their sales effectiveness by team-selling, offering insight/assistance and answering sales/product related questions. Building the expertise of the Esco channel partner is a crucial part of the role. In areas without adequate rep or dealer coverage, the Field Sales Manager might have to sell directly to the end user. Presence at local, regional, and national tradeshows will also be required. 


Responsibilities:

  • Represent Esco in the assigned geographical territory and achieve assigned sales targets.
  • Work with existing Esco distributors, manufacturer representatives, building architects/planners, contractors, and other sales outlets to increase their sales effectiveness with workdays, training, and technical support. Improve the sales effectiveness of the Esco channel partner and find ways to engage them on a frequent basis.
  • Develop a business plan for your assigned geographical territory that will enable achievement of sales targets.
  • Establish a strong reference base to assist in the sales of future products.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge of life science applications.
  • 2-5 years of successful field laboratory selling experience.
  • Strong knowledge of account base in assigned selling area.
  • Proven experience to work in a team-based environment.
  • Proven experience working with an equipment manufacturer, a manufacturer rep organization, or a distributor.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to influence others to achieve success. Excellent persuasive communications skills.
  • Strong ability to identify key decision makers.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Ability to do seminars, training programs, lunch-and-learns in front of a large group.
  •  Strong organizational skills and customer follow-up.
