Technical Services Engineer

The Company is expanding their US sales operation and is looking to fill the following position in the Philadelphia area:

Technical Services Engineer

Position Summary:

The Technical Services Engineer is responsible for making sure Company's customers have a superior experience with their Company product. Superlative customer facing skills will be needed to be successful in this position. Training, technical support, identifying parts and supplies, repairing, service inventory management, service call monitoring and tracking, interfacing with design engineers, and installation are just some of the necessary behaviors that will be necessary.


  • Become the technical expert on all Company products sold in the US, Canada, and Latin America.
  • Assisting customers and field personnel with technical questions and arrange for necessary repairs or training on all Company products with a high sense of urgency and professionalism.
  • Train field resources on technical aspects of the product and help troubleshoot field issues.
  • Identify and maintain inventory of necessary service parts.
  • Be able to systematically identify the root cause of issues and suggest practical corrective/preventive measures.
  • As necessary, repair or install Company's products in the field.
  • Maintain a complete and detailed service log and report re-occurring issues to the factory.
  • Perform necessary product customization in the office.
  • Be able to check that product is performing properly before shipment to the customer.
  • Be able to identify and maintain tools and equipment necessary to do the required job.
  • Ability to design training programs.

Job Requirements:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in electronics or mechanical engineering.
  • Knowledge of life science applications or laboratory equipment.
  • 2-5 years similar job experience
  • Being able to lift 50+ pounds and handling bulky heavy equipment.
  • Proven experience to work in a team-based environment.
  • Willingness to travel when necessary.
  • Self-motivated
  • Enthusiastic, dedicated and committed approach to work.
  • Strong organizational skills and customer follow-up.
  • Valid US driver's license.
